Food and Drink
We serve dinner on Sunday nights only. Dinner must be booked a day in advance, and we'd appreciate being advised of any special dietary requirements so we can plan the menu accordingly.
On Monday to Saturday we offer light supper platters for two to share - ideal if you don't wish to have a big meal, or if you don't want to go out in the evening. It helps if you order a platter in advance.
We received one of the first VisitScotland "Taste our Best" food awards in 2013 for our use of the great Outer Hebrides local produce, and that award was repeated in 2014 and 2015. These complement our four prestigious Silver awards by Eat Scotland. We pride ourselves on high quality food, based on local ingredients, and we source fresh lamb, venison, salmon, shellfish, grouse etc from the islands whenever possible and we make our own bread.
Comments from our Eat Scotland assessments include "Broad Bay House serves imaginative and stylish food using locally sourced ingredients. The chef proprietor demonstrates a passion for cooking that shows itself in the quality of the cooking"
We will do our best to accommodate any food preferences, intolerances or allergies providing you advise us well in advance, although we are unable to guarantee that our food is 100% nut free.
For the nights we don't serve dinner we are happy to suggest suitable places for you to go to, and we will make reservations on your behalf if you wish
Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 9.15. A breakfast tray or packed breakfast can be provided if you need to leave early.
For breakfast there is plenty of choice including our full Hebridean breakfast, a range of Omelettes plus fish specialities such as Stornoway Kippers, local hot- and cold-smoked salmons and natural smoked haddock.
We serve dinner on Sundays only - we offer 3-4 choices of starter and dessert, with a traditional roast for main course - often Sirloin of Aberdeen Angus Beef. 24 hour advance booking for dinner is essential.

We have an alcohol licence, and keep an interesting range of local beers, wines, spirits and fine malt whiskies. The bar operates on an “honesty” basis, with guests helping themselves whenever required outside dinner service. We do not provide a BYO facility.
We have a good wine list, with around 12 fine wines ranging from £16 to £36 per bottle.
Our whisky list covers around 12 fine whiskies, including several unusual cask strength malts - mostly from the islands.
